Tremor in the force

Timeline: After Buffy's Nightmare

Willow woke from a sound sleep, a tremor rippled through her magic from outside. Dark forces were at work and they were strong enough to wake Willow out of a sound sleep. She didn't question the call, she merely dressed and threw her clothing in a bag. The witch knew only one thing the Hellmouth was active she felt it in her bones. As she got behind the wheel of the car she owned, (yes she finally owns a car), starting the engine. Willow drove away from the house she had been renting and was making her way to the highway as she reached for her phone.

The first number she dialed was Buffy's number and waited for her old friend to pick up. After all, she sensed something was up with the slayer and the cause of the powerful dark magic was somehow connected to Buffy.

"Will," she said sadly when she answered, she knew something was horribly wrong and hoped that her dream wasn't true. The Slayer was high tailing it toward Sunny Dale, hoping not to get a ticket as a tear rolled down her face.

"You had a dream, didn't you? Let me conference call, Giles and Xander." She said before Buffy could respond again. Even as Willow said this she hit the button that would call Giles and Xander adding them to the call as the picked up. "Once they connect tell us about your dream," Willow said softly.

Giles answered, "Yes, um, Hello? I would say this is unexpected."

Willow smiled at hearing Giles' voice, "Hang on Watcher, I'm conferencing Xander in as well." Willow said softly waiting for Xander to answer.

Xander picks up his phone and answered the call. "Willow, do you know what time it is for a cyclops at this hour?" Xander asked tiredly.

"Yes," the Slayer said once everyone was connected "it was horrible, Dawn...Dawn" she said it again "she's dead" tears were, rolling down Buffy's face by this point.

He sat up hearing Buffy say that Dawn was dead. "Wait, what happened to Dawn?" he asked turning the light on

"Buffy had a dream, if you're not already in Sunnydale, I think we need to head home. Buffy take a deep breath and tell us exactly what you saw in you're dream." Willow suggested.

"Dawn is dead. How?" Even if they couldn't see it, Giles tilted his head a bit. Taking his glasses off and setting them down on the desk there in his office at the new school library. "This is..most unfortunate." Also waiting for an explanation.

"Vampiers turning to dust" she took a deep breath "someone is up to something and I think they took Dawn's life" there was horn heared on the phone line as Buffy drifted into on coming traffic for a second "not to mention Darla and Drusilla made a cameo."

"Buffy, why are you driving and talking on your phone. Pull over before you get yourself killed." Xander said getting out of bed.

"Buffy...that is not exactly an explanation. Just a dream, saying Dawn is dead because of it. The Hellmouth is closed, the school has been rebuilt. I am still working here just in case. I've not gotten any indication anything is starting up again."

"I don't know" Buffy said anger and sadness in her voice "I just know what happend in my dream and the feeling in my gut. Someone killed Dawn on the hell mouth" the Slayer said very matter of factly, this dream was to real.

If Giles had been anywhere near Sunnydale, even if he hadn't he would have felt the earthquake that happened late at night. Around midnight, the witching hour, there had been a earthquake as strong dark magic had been performed. just as Willow had felt something in natural magic that some very dark magic was recently used.

"Giles, you know the Coven, we felt the tremor of really strong magic used." She told him softly. If not for Giles and the Coven she would be doing really dark magic. She knew this feeling.

"Now actually..that you mention it..there was a minor quake that happened. I did not think much of it until now." There was the sound of Giles moving around and then the sound of books flopping down and pages turning.

"Giles?" Buffy asked and pushed on the gas of her car a little harder, not even really meaning to.

"I am here. I'm just, looking through a few things. Where are you at? We can all hear the sounds of vehicles."

"On my way" Buffy said "I'll be there as soon as I can" she wish she could teleport at this point, but that wasn't happening anytime soon.

"That is not exactly specific, Buffy. Where are you, and I should like to know if you did any investigation into this dream you had. Is Dawn really dead, or just in your dream."

She shook her head and another tear ran down here cheek "I don't know for sure Giles, I've called her at least a hundred times and she isn't answering her cell" Buffy was fighting back the tears "I'm a few hours from Sunnydale."

"If I am not mistaken...with these new phones. There is a way to locate hers and find out where it is at. I could get Willow or Xander to do that while you are headed here and we can go from there once we all have regrouped."

"Guys?" Buffy asked, she wasn't Miss techy

"I'm on my way as well the coven is helping me to figure out what is going on, I can use the tech to see if I can locate Dawn's phone." Willow said softly.

"Thanks Will" Buffy said "in my dream they were in the basement of the school."

"Are you certain, Buffy? I am at the school right now." Giles closed the book he had been going through. "I can go look."

"I think i still have the blueprints to the school. I can grab them and be ovet soon Giles." Xander said as he put his phone down to get dressed.

"I'm certain it was the Sunnydale hell mouth" she paused "I could see it and feel it's energy, I don't know whats going on, hopefully it was nothing."

"Giles check the Basment, Dawn's cell is pinging over Sunnydale high. If they followed the blueprints from the last rebuild, then it's under the principles office." Willow said.

"I'll wait for Xander since he's got the blueprints. In the mean time I will get some firepower and see if Faith is done patroling."

"Roger, I'm going to end the call now we'll see you when we get into town." Willow told everyone.
