During the afternoon normal television and radio stations were interrupted around 2 pm with the breaking news of the fire on Quincy street. While Giles did not always watch TV there were times when it was on as background noise. This was one of the rare days when Giles had the television on and so whatever was on his tv at two in the afternoon was interrupted with the report of what was going on, on Quincy Street.

There was a reporter out in front of the blaze at the moment with a mic in hand. "As you can see there are two houses on fire..." Before he even finished the sentence the house fully covered in flames was starting to cave in even as fire rescue used their hoses to spray water.

"It is unclear yet what caused the fire, but it has already reached the second house on Quincy street and fire rescue teams have gone into the burning house to see if anyone is inside. A 10-year-old boy was the one to dial 9-1-1 and called in that his house was on fire. While the young boy is now being seen to by on-scene paramedics the child's two parents were also home. His mother and father were both trapped inside the house having taught their son that in case of an emergency he was to get out of the house and onto the side of the street which is where Paramedics found him with severe smoke inhalation." The reporter paused as he was told about something by someone off-screen maybe the cameraman.

"It would seem that the parents have been found and are being pulled from the house now. It is still unclear how the fire was started, but once we have more news we will report back. Until then this is Ted signing off." And with a brief message from the stations' newscast, the previously interrupted program scheduled to play was no longer being interrupted.
