Lost in thought

Mission:
Sunnydale, A new Darkness
Location: Playground
Summers sat on a branch of a tree just outside the park sensing danger all around her and yet not seeing anyone yet. The young girl was thinking back to her first day here and wondered why she hadn't been able to kill that demon. It was the first time she's failed to destroy evil. The main problem was she didn't sense evil in him, it was why she couldn't kill him.
Unfortunately, if her watcher ever found out she failed to kill a demon he'd give her the same punishment with a word as they did when she resisted being their fighter. One blood word was all it took. Just one word and the could cause pain to surge through her body. It was like electricity moving through her nerve endings it was excruciating. It was such a weird way to use the word to. They chose 'cat' for reasons she didn't understand, as the blood word to control her.
Thankfully the word 'cat' did not come up in everyday conversation with the watchers' council otherwise it would hurt a hell of a lot more. Summers' looked up at noise in the park, disrupting her thoughts as it were. Cocking her head she noticed a young girl and a vampire enter the park so late. It was too easy really, looking around she wondered if that Buffy was going to show up? Summers had chosen this spot because she hadn't noticed any of the people she was supposed to be avoiding.
As the young girl returned her attention to the couple, the fact that he was starting to get rough was not mistaken on her. Rolling her eyes she dropped down from the branch directly behind the vampire. Grabbing him by the shoulders she threw him away from the young girl he was trying to feed off of. "If I were you, I would be running now." She told her before turning to the vampire. Summers did not need to watch the girl, to hear her words of thanks and her feet hitting the ground as she ran away crying.
"Don't you know there'll always be someone to put a stake in your plans." She said reaching for her stake with a smirk. She didn't wait for a reply or a reaction since the vamp seemed to be surprised to see her. Moving into a no-handed cart-wheel her feet hitting the guy on the top of his head before she landed gracefully on her feet.
He was on his hands and knees and looked up at her angrily. He growled, "We were told you wouldn't be in town slayer." He growled about to get to his feet.
"You were miss informed." She told him sending the stake through his back before he could even get back to his feet. Though she probably had a feeling he thought she was someone else. That was getting old really since she didn't know who else she could be, but herself. Turning away from the pile of dust floating in the wind she moved on staying to the shadows looking for her next demon or vampire.
