Mission:
Sunnydale, A new Darkness
Location: Giles House
Willow had managed to break the blood bond that the girl's watcher had placed upon her to control her. Summers was the name of the girl that looked like Buffy but was also a vampire. "Why would a watcher do that to her?" Buffy asked as the Scobie gang relaxed slightly after all the excitement lately.
"I can think of one reason," Willow said stepping forward to gently move a lock of hair out of the 16-year-old's eyes as she laid sleeping on the couch. "The last slayer they had they couldn't control like they usually could. so they cloned the best Slayer they've ever had I mean look at you in your late 20's and you're still alive doesn't a slayer usually live to be 18 at the oldest? you yourself were predicted to die when you were only 16. Mixing vampire blood with that of a slayer will make her stronger and harder to kill using blood magic to control her insures that she cannot fire the watchers' council as you had." Willow said looking to Giles for confirmation. Of course, he could think she's way off.
Giles gave a little thought to it a moment, pushing the glasses back up on his nose. "Well um...yes. Technically. There is that staple of the age and that has been broken. Mixing the blood and making a clone should not at all be possible without magic. I don't know who managed it, but they did."
Buffy didn't pretend to know as much as Giles and Willow about magic, but from the sound of it this magic was big energy and probably not the kind that came with rainbows and sunshine. "So is the spell broken or can whoever regain control over" Buffy shook her head "of her."
"Honestly, I don't think that the blood binding spell can be restored without Summers' blood so unless they keep a vial of it on hand they will have to come in here to claim her first," Willow said looking at Giles wondering if he thought they'd have a vial of the girls' blood on them.
"We have no idea about if its broken or not. Though we already have some viable blood that we can get from the fight." Giles gave a look over to where the fight had happened.
"We can't let the watchers get their hands on her" Buffy looked over at the girl and at the place where the fight took place.
"First Dawn and now this" she shook her head "We were done with the watchers long ago and I'll be damned if we are putting up with anymore out of them."
"They may very well come for her. we may need to call in some backup, my magic alone won't stop them if they have magic, of their own. We may need a little added muscle, when is the last time you spoke to Spike?" Willow asked with an arched brow.
"You know as well as I do that not all the Watchers are corrupt, or you'd have to dismiss me." Giles shook his head.
Faith was just listening to them all and the inaction at the moment, just talk. "What we're not enough muscle, Will?" She gave a bit of a thought a moment, "Right, Spike, you mean the one I talked to the other day?"
"I didn't say that, but if they use magic on us then yes you won't be enough muscle. The undead like Spike, aren't always susceptible to magical attacks," Willow paused and blinked, "You talked to Spike the other day?"
"Yeah, why does that surprise you? It's not like I'm banging him, unlike someone we know did."
Buffy rolled her eyes "it wasn't that kind of talk" crossing her arm and taking a few steps toward the girl that had been bound. "She" she gestured with her eyes "have anything to what happened to Dawn" Buffy shook her head "we still need to deal with that."
"Only the girl can do that unless you want me to magic the information out of her head?" Willow asked. Magic could do a lot for people.
"Actually..uh..there is an easier way." Giles ignored that talk about Spike and sex or not sex.
Willow turned to Giles waiting for him to talk more on what easier way there could be.
"We just wake her up and ask her. She's cut off at the moment, she can speak for herself now."
Faith gave a sigh, "Of course...talking.." Rolling her eyes.
Willow smiled, "I did say only she could answer our questions," Willow agreed with Giles and moved to the girl asleep on the couch. With a touch of two fingertips on her forehead, Summers' eyes opened and she looked up at willow.
The girl moved quickly flipping up over the back of the couch and looking to the four people in the room with her as she backed away. It took her a moment to notice that there was a lack of pull that she used to feel in her blood.
"Willow." Shaking his head, "I didn't say this minute." Thought it was a little late now. Giles held his hands up, moving towards Anne. "It's okay. You're safe." Not having to motion to Faith to move in position just in case.
Summers' eyes were wide as she looked around accessing the threats. She knew there were two slayers here, a watcher, and a witch standing before her. She bit her lower lip looking to the door out of the corner of her eye wondering if she could get there. However, as she watched that route was blocked by someone. "What makes you think I am safe? What makes you think you are safe? You've been out of the circle a long time Watcher, your kind has changed from the way you were taught," Summers' said cocking her head slightly to the right as she watched him closely to see if he was anything like the watcher's she knew.
Her own watcher was younger than Giles, like all new recruits were trained in blood magic and control The watchers had learned a harsh lesson not being kept in the slayer circle and decided they hadn't wanted to allow another slayer the chance to cut them off again. They've learned that certain 'monsters' can be useful in returning a slayer to them. "you should have returned me to my watcher, if you have weapons I suggest you get them," She warned them for some reason she did not wish them harm.
"We can't do that, Anne." Yes, Giles was using her middle name. "I could easily tell Buffy and Faith to take you, they would be more than willing, just to get answers. That is not how we work. This Watcher works. Please, sit down."
She looked confused for a second, then realization dawned on her. "Wait you think I'm telling you to defend yourself against me? No, Against that," She said pointing out the front window. There in the street stood her Watcher and what looked like a disfigured distorted demon, vampire, human hybrid.
Buffy saw the creature outside and looked over at Faith "I think we've got trouble" she suggested and started toward the weapons storage in Giles place.
"The what?" Giles turned to look out of the window, "Oh dear."
Faith was right on Buffy's heels.
Summers' eyes widened, "Wait you plan to fight that thing?" She was surprised, the young slayers had thought that they'd just hand her over rather than fight it as her watcher had always told her they would.
As Buffy pulled a sword out of the weapons chest she gave Faith a glance and then looked over at Summers' "No, we are going to send that thing to hell where it belongs."
"Why does that surprise you?" Faith dug through and got out one of her favorite axes. Giving it a little heft and moment, and a couple of daggers to put in her boots.
Summer bit her lower lip. "Um, can I help?" She asked with a slight smile on her lips her canine's showing slightly at the thought of finally kicking that things ass she's been afraid of it since she found it when she was little.
Buffy looked over at Faith and gave a shrug, she didn't trust Summers but they may need the help "I'm guessing this is a gift from her watchers"
Summers looked to Buffy and Faith than to the others around and had a feeling she wasn't trusted, which was fine by her. If they wished to judge her for following orders then fine. It wasn't as if she had much of a choice. "Look if you took away the blood bond magic, then you broke their ability to control me. If they can't control me that thing is here to either take me back or kill me. Either way, I'd rather live than die so what do you say we work together to get rid of it?
"Evidently, and standing around just talking about it isn't going to get anything done. We going to kill the thing or not?' Faith meant Nemesis.
Buffy quickly cut Summers free "looks like we have our work cut out for us guys" she looked around the room at the two slayers and her friends.
Willow had a barrier around the house to protect them, "Let me know when you're ready and I'll lower the barrier so you guys can get out and deal with that thing k?" Willow smirked, "Just like old times," She smiled at everyone.
Summer reached in and snagged a pair of brass knuckles. She bit her lip actually a little nervous considering that she's never won against this beast of the watchers she was a little worried they wouldn't win.
"Just like old times" Buffy looked over at Willow and gave a nod as she started toward the front door. As the barrier lowered the slayer ran toward the monster swinging her weapon. She was quite surprised when he caught her sword with one hand and backhanded her. Buffy moaned after landing on the windshield of a nearby car "ouch" she said trying to get back up.
"B don'......t" Sighs and rolls her eyes, "Rush ahead." Faith shook her head a bit. Watching Buffy flung like a rag doll. Well, hopefully, the thing paid attention to Buffy so she could get behind and work on those legs with the ax she had.
Buffy had gotten up and started back toward the thing. "Come on big ugly" she punched it in its chest a few times and then dodged an income attack from the monster that had been sent after Summers.
Summers had her weapons, the brass knuckles would help but she stood outside the house watching the fight for a moment frozen with fear, something she only ever felt around the 'big ugly' as Buffy had called it. Unfortunately, this monster has haunted her dreams since the first time the council had her fight it when she was 10 which was almost 7 years ago. She had survived it, but she hadn't beat it. She hated this feeling, she was shaking with fear, sweating slightly, and unable to move.
Buffy took a kick to the chest and ended up on her back with this creature standing over her ready to strike again. "Summers" she called out trying to get the girl to get into the battle and when she realized the girl was frozen in fear she looked for Faith.
Summers was shaking staring at the beast even is it knocked Buffy on her back. However, seeing Buffy on her back reminded her of how she had lost. She'd been laying on her own back staring up at it as its foot came down. something inside of her just snapped, "NO!" She yelled as the beast raised its foot and she moved into action. With a snarling growl Summers' threw herself at the beast moving into a roundhouse kick knocking it away from Buffy.
Faith stood there for a moment. Actually kind of watching, huh. New kids got a bit of moves. Not like her, but a bit. "I really hate the smell of a butthole to Hell in the evening." Raising the ax above her head and throwing it over into the 'nemesis' back.
Summers saw the ax flying through the air and moved to kick the beast again using all of her slight weight and momentum to knock him into the incoming ax causing an increase in damage. unfortunately, it wasn't enough the beast let out a roar and backhanded Summer knocking her to the ground and reaching around for the handle of the ax.
"That's gotta hurt..." Shaking her head, "Oh and dumbass, you can't reach the handle. That's the exact point." Faith charged at it and was getting ready. "B! Legs!" The thing was to big for her to pull this off on her own. However, if Buffy got that que, she could jump up and grab it by the shoulders and slam it down hard on its back and force the ax in even deeper.
Buffy ran and slid between the creature's legs, stabbing her sword into one of its legs and kicking the other leg as hard as she could when she stopped.
Summers watched as the two older slayers brought down the beast. And yet even with the ax deep in its back, the monster was still moving to get back up and go after Summers. Though he was moving slower that didn't stop him from punching towards Buffy meaning to bring his fist down on her head.
Summers moved behind the beast and into a spin kick knocking the ax into its back more causing the point of it to come out of his chest slightly. It had been too focused on the slayers doing the damage rather than her. The monster started to fall to its knees.
See now that's how a team does it. Faith gave a look a moment and held her hand up. Mostly at Buffy for the sword since the ax was still in the creature. Her intent was to toss it to Summers and tell her to cut its fucking head off.
Buffy tossed the sword to Faith and started getting up. "Let's end this" she called out to the other slayers.
They were apparently kind of playing hot potato with the sword. "Summers heads up." Tossing her the sword, "Finish it."
Summers' caught the sword and moved into a spin slicing the head off its shoulders in one smooth motion. She turned towards the Watcher that had sent the monster after her. But he was already gone. She fell to her knees kinda just relieved it's over.
